$900K In Infrastructure Grants Given To 2 Lower Bucks Towns

State officials said Northampton and Upper Southampton townships will receive funds for pedestrian safety and for stormwater management.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —Northampton and Upper Southampton townships are getting state grants for infrastructure improvements.

State Rep. Kristin Marcell, R-Bucks, said the grants come through the Commonwealth Financing Authority Local Share Account program from state gaming revenue.

“This funding is dedicated to improving our communities, and in our case, the money will be used to help with stormwater management and to improve pedestrian safety,” Marcell said.

Northampton Township will receive $500,000 to use to construct pedestrian safety improvements along Route 332 (Newtown-Richboro Road).

Upper Southampton Township was awarded $401,485 to improve stormwater management.

Sen. Frank Farry said the funding for the upgrades will benefit Northampton Township and Upper Southampton Township for years to come.

The funds are given to projects that improve the quality of life of citizens in the community. Eligible projects must be owned and maintained by an eligible applicant or a nonprofit organization.
