4 Children Injured As BMW Crashes Into Bucks Co. Daycare Center

Four children were taken by ambulance to the hospital after a car crashed into their Bucks Co. daycare center Thursday afternoon.

SOUTHAMPTON, PA — Four children were hurt — one seriously — after a car crashed into a Bucks County daycare center Thursday afternoon, the Bucks County District Attorney has confirmed.

The DA's Crash Investigation Team is investigating along with the Upper Southampton Police Department.

According to authorities, the crash happened at 1:30 p.m. at the Children of America Educational Childcare center on Knowles Avenue in Upper Southampton.

A BMW driven by a female from Philadelphia crashed through a front window of the daycare center.

The vehicle traveled through a classroom and came to rest against a back wall of the room, the DA's office said. Seventeen children were in the classroom at the time of the incident, with 79 children total in the building.

Four children were transported to Abington Hospital by ambulance. One child suffered serious injuries; police continue to monitor the child's condition.

The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries. She remains hospitalized.
