Police Officer Promoted To Lieutenant In Upper Southampton Twp.

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A veteran police officer has been promoted up the ranks of the Upper Southampton Township Police Department.

At Tuesday night's Board of Supervisors meeting, Anthony Marsaglia was promoted to the rank of lieutenant, the police department said.

Marsaglia was hired as a police officer in 2010. In 2015, he was promoted to detective.

Marsaglia brings a "wealth of personal, professional, and administrative experience" to the position.

He holds a bachelor's degree from Temple University, he is the head hostage negotiator for the South-Central Emergency Response Team, current departmental evidence custodian, and defensive tactics instructor.

Marsaglia also is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command #471.

"We welcome Lt. Marsaglia to the Command Staff of the Department and wish him continued success in his law enforcement career," the police department said.
