Supervisor Applications Due Friday In Upper Southampton Township Board
The township is seeking to the fill the vacancy left by Marguerite C. Genesio's departure. Applicants have until Sept. 30 to apply.

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The township's Board of Supervisors has a vacancy on its five-member board.
Marguerite C. Genesio, who was serving a six-year term that was expected to expire next year, resigned at the Sept. 13 supervisors meeting, confirmed a township official who answered the phone at the township building Friday.
The official, who asked not to be named, did not provide a reason for the resignation.

A message to Genesio via Facebook Messenger was not returned Friday.
Township Manager Donald Williams could not be reached for comment. The township official said he was on vacation.

A press release posted on the Patch Upper Southampton Township website revealed the resignation but offered few details and did not reveal the name of the supervisor.
The press release stated that a "vacancy exists on the Board of Supervisors of Upper Southampton Township."
The press release requests that anyone interested in the position needs to submit a letter of interest along with a statement of financial interest to the township.
The township requests that the letter of interest and statement of financial interest be delivered by first class mail or hand-delivered to the township by 4 p.m. on Sept. 30 for consideration.
Upper Southampton Township is a second-class township consisting of five elected members who serve six-year terms, the township's website states.
The board meets for regular public meetings in the Southampton Free Library, Lower Level Meeting Room, 947 Street Road, Southampton.
The next supervisors meeting is Oct. 11.
