Trash Truck Catches Fire At Street Road Building
The Southampton Fire Company and mutual aid companies battled the garbage truck fire on Street Road on Tuesday.

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Between Fire Prevention Month presentations on Tuesday, the Southampton Fire Company had to prevent a fire from spreading to a building.
The fire company and mutual aid units responded Tuesday to a trash truck fire on a unit block of Street Road.
Fire officials said dark smoke was coming from the garbage truck parked near a building.

The garbage truck's load was dumped, and the fire was extinguished, fire officials said.
The Upper Southampton Township Public Works Department provided a backhoe to help extinguish the garbage pile, fire officials said.

Among the mutual aid companies were: the Northampton Township Fire Department, Warminster Fire Department, Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro, Upper Moreland Township Fire Department, Upper Southampton Township Police Department, and the Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad.
