Letter to the Editor: Choice Between 2 Parties? No, thanks!

Neither Democrat nor Republican for this voter.

To the Editor:

Keep up the slime-slinging, President Obama and Gov. Romney! You are making me feel more comfortable every day with electing to vote for neither of you!

The latest schoolyard brawl between the two men, just one example among many of their negative campaigning, features the Obama camp’s charge that its opponent engages in “Romneyhood”, a takeoff on Robin Hood, and from the Romney forces, that the president practices "Obamaloney." Can they believe that they may insult the intelligent voter with impunity?

The obvious intent of each man is not to tout their own virtues, but to drive up the negative ratings of the opponent, and both are succeeding!

Individuals who would engage in such child’s play are not worthy of election to be the leader of the free world. That is why my vote shall be cast for either Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson or Ron Paul, both of whom are honorable individuals with policies that could pull the nation out of a ditch if more members of the electorate were open to the unorthodox. I do not agree with the Libertarians on every issue, but on critical matters of deficit and spending reduction, and diminishing our role as law enforcement officer of the world, I find them to be absolutely right.

One may accuse me of wasting my vote by forsaking the two major political party nominees, but a principled and sincere ballot is never a waste. I shall sleep better over the next four years for having had no role in electing either the Democratic or Republican character to the White House.
