USC football players have a break from sunny skies as they prepare of the 2012 season.
Upper St. Clair football players wrapped up their first week of practice under gray skies Friday, a day before traveling to Franklin Regional for their first scrimmage.
Following four days of work in the sun, the players had an opportunity to work on their skills in inclement weather, as a late-morning downpour drenched the proceedings in the high school stadium.
The Panthers are coming off an appearance in the WPIAL championship game in 2011. They also host North Hills in a scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 24, before opening the regular season the following week:
