19-Year-Old Killed In Crash Remembered By Warminster Family

Rocco Salvatore Scarcelli died in a Horsham Township accident last week. A GoFundMe page has been launched.

WARMINSTER, PA —Rocco Salvatore Scarcelli was an avid gamer and reader who loved learning about and studying Greek mythology.

The 19-year-old township teenager was an employee of Trail Electric, an apprentice electrician who enjoyed his job immensely.

Scarcelli's life was cut short after he was killed in an early morning crash involving a tractor-trailer on County Line Road in Horsham Township last Tuesday.

His family will lay Rocco to rest Wednesday.

"I want everyone to know just how wonderful my boy was. We are completely broken. He was a wonderful, kind, loving young man," Rocco's mother Constance Scarcelli told Patch Monday.

A GoFundMe page has been created by Michael Festa on behalf of Constance Scarcelli. The page has raised more than $10,000 of its $25,000 goal so far.

His mother told Patch that Rocco was headed to work at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, and was just minutes from home.

She said her son worked at Trail Electric from the time he was in the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology intern program.

"He always left early because he loved his job," she said, saying he had an hour to get to his boss's home near Wood Haven Road.

Scarcelli said her son attended schools at Leary and Willow Dale, where he won a leadership award. After attending Log College, her son attended William Tennent and MBIT, where he graduated last year.

Rocco was the beloved son of Paul and Constance Scarcelli, his obituary said.

He shared a love of education with his siblings. Organizers said the GoFundMe account will be used for educational purposes for Rocco's family.

Rocco loved his fur babies Luke and Freddie and also spending time with friends, family, and loving girlfrend Abbey, his obituary stated.

In addition to his parents, Rocco is survived by his loving brother and sisters; Paul Scarcelli, Antonia Scarcelli and Gianna Scarcelli; maternal grandparents; Michael and Loretta Horin and his paternal grandparents Rose Scarcelli, and the late Paul Scarcelli; aunts and uncles Deborah Valentino, Nickie Grzeskiewicz, Christine Barrett, Michael Horin, Jr., Paula Scarcelli and Paul Scarcelli Brown and first cousins Scott, Jessica, Carly, Ashley, Ryan, Evan, and Henry.

A viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. His interment will be private.
