Archbishop Wood HS Names New Head Football Coach
Coach David Armstrong, who served as the Viking's Defensive Coordinator, has been working with the football team since 2017.
WARMINSTER, PA — Archbishop Wood Catholic High School has announced the appointment of Coach David Armstrong as the new Head Football Coach of the Vikings.
Armstrong has been involved with the Vikings since 2017. Before his ost recent appointment, he served as the team's Defensive Coordinator. He also has coaching experience with the Bux-Mont Saints and at Central Bucks West High School, the latter from whcih he graduated in 1997.
With his prior experience in the local football scene, Armstrong is replacing former Vikings head coach Matt Walp, who stepped down from his position in late May. He will be the fourth Vikings coach in the past six years.

"We were very lucky to have a group of high-quality candidates who expressed interest in becoming the next Head Football Coach at Wood and are excited that Coach Armstrong accepted the post. He is well poised to build on the legacy and strong tradition of the Archbishop Wood Football Program," said Cloe O'Grady, Principal of Archbishop Wood High School. "We look forward to Coach Armstrong's leadership of our young men, both on and off the field."
The Vikings, who compete in the Catholic League Red Division, will conitinue to play against top teams from other nearby Catholic schools.

Armstrong, a father of five, resides in Ivyland. After graduating from Central Bucks West, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Michigan.
