Candidate Questions

1. How can you curb crime seeping into Lower Bucks County's suburbs?

As a former police officer, I know firsthand how our law enforcement can help curb and eliminate crime from our streets. It’s why I am a proud supporter of our police and continue to advocate further funding of law enforcement, including recently obtaining a grant of $250,000 for the Warminster Police Department. Last month, Gov. Josh Shapiro stopped in the district to tour the Warrington Police Department, and myself as well as the police chiefs of the area advocated for legal changes to the status of second-class townships. This status limits funding and therefore the amount of personal police departments in second-class townships like Warrington and Warminster can hire. This law is outdated and the funding fix is required to ensure we have the necessary amount of police officers.

2. How can you work to get more money for your district in terms of school funding and grants?

This past session, we passed a budget that includes an increase of over $17 million for Bucks County schools, including additional funding for Central Bucks School District and Centennial School District. While this funding increase is a step in the right direction, it still does not meet the needs of our schools and the State should do more to fund our schools as well as take the tax burden off of our seniors who are living on a fixed income. I continue to also advocate for grants for our schools, recently we secured grants for both Central Bucks South and Centennial School Districts Booster Clubs to ensure our students have everything they need for their school-affiliated activities.

3. Where can improvements still be made to reduce traffic that continues to clog key roads in your district?

I continue to advocate for funding for PennDOT and SEPTA, as well as funding and expansion of Doylestown area regional transit (DART) with the creation of DART-Southeast which would expand the service into Warminster.

4. What do you bring to the district as a change agent in helping your constituents have a better life after years of inflation and rising costs for families?

This past session we passed the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program to assist members of our community that are on fixed incomes. We have also expanded the Child Tax Credit with the help of Gov. Josh Shapiro to put money back into the pockets of your family. The fair funding bill also will allow localities to cut property taxes as more state dollars are used to fund Education, this is especially helpful for our seniors.
