Football Camp, School Board Meeting and a Sharknado This Week

Check out what's happening in Warminster this week.

  • The end of July means the beginning of football camp for the Warminster Pioneers. The teams will take the field at Werner Park starting Monday between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Registration will be open at the field for any latecomers between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
  • The BuxMont Panthers also start football camp on Monday at 5 p.m. at Lacey Park in Warminster Heights. Players between ages 6 and 17 are invited to join the new team. 
  • The Centennial School Board has scheduled a special public meeting for Tuesday at 8:15 p.m., following an executive session regarding personnel matters.
  • The Regal Warrington Crossings movie theater is hosting a midnight screening of the instant cult classic Sharknado on Friday. The film, which premiered on the SyFy Channel on July 11, only attracted 1.4 million viewers, but the buzz took over social media. At one point, there were 5,000 tweets per minute as a tornado filled with sharks decimated Santa Monica. Tickets for the midnight show cost $12.50.
  • Temperatures will hover in the mid-80s this week, with some showers predicted Wednesday night and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
