How Bucks County Has Voted For President

BUCKS COUNTY, PA —It could come down to Bucks County.
With Pennsylvania a key battleground state in Tuesday's general election for president, Bucks County voters may decide the race between Republican candidate, former President Donald Trump, and Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris.
This year, Bucks County flipped back to the Republican Party, marking a "red" change since the 2020 election when Democrat Joseph Biden beat Trump by more than 16,000 votes in Bucks County.

Trump, the incumbent, lost the state and won 27 of Bucks County's 54 municipalities. The county has 304 voting districts. In 2016, when he faced Democrat Hillary Clinton, Trump won 34 of the county's municipalities.
Eight municipalities in Bucks County flipped from red to blue in the most recent election. Just one — Dublin Borough — went from blue to red, uncertified results show.

As of Aug. 30, Republicans now have 936 more registered voters than Democrats, according to voter registration data from the Bucks County Board of Elections.
In the registered voter count of 482,362 county residents as of Aug. 30, Republicans have 199,893 registered voters while Democrats have 198,957 voters. Other parties have 83,512 registered voters.
While registered voters may now favor Republicans, Bucks County has voted for the Democratic presidential candidate in every election after the Bush-Dukakis election in 1988.
In the 2016 presidential election, Trump beat Democrat Hillary Clinton.
But he didn't win Bucks County as Clinton received 167,060 votes to Trump's 164,361 votes.
During the 2012 presidential race, Democrat Barack Obama was elected as president and also won Bucks County over Republican Mitt Romney, getting 160,521 votes to Romney's 156,579 votes.
Obama also won the 2008 presidential race and Bucks County over Republican John McCain.
