Supermoon on Monday, Last Week of Hartsville Fire Camp This Week

Take a look at what's happening around town this week.

  • Grab your telescope for a night under the stars on Monday. Or, opt to leave it at home to catch a glimpse of the upcoming super moon. The ideal time to view the super moon at its fullest is within the first few minutes of the moonrise on July 22. According to the U.S. Naval Observatory, the moonrise will take place at approximately 8:08 p.m, and the moon will set at 6:57 a.m. the following day.
  • The Hartsville Fire Company ends its four-week firefighter cadet camp with a simulated fire that will have all of the young students responding on the fire truck.
  • Starting Monday, Street Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction between York and Street road as crews work on water and sewer lines for the new Wawa. The new traffic pattern will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, until the end of September.
  • The Warminster Zoning Board meets Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. at the township administration building.
  • After the hottest week of the year things cool down a bit this week, with temperatures hovering in the mid- to high 80s, with possible showers and thunderstorms Monday through Thursday.
