1. Foundation grant helps 4-H expand science education (sungazette.com) — Lycoming County youth will soon see expanded 4-H animal science programs thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Williamsport Lycoming Competitive Grant Program at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania. The funding will add hands-on tools, models, and simulators, and grow popular school projects like chick embryology. Local volunteers will also receive training so they can bring these new resources directly into clubs and classrooms.
   

2. Penn College Fall Commencement set for Dec. 20 (psu.edu) — Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport will graduate more than 300 students at its Fall 2025 commencement on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Journey Bank Community Arts Center. The ceremony will feature student speaker Hayden Lester, who works for BLaST IU 17 in Williamsport, along with award-winning faculty and alumni honorees, and will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
   

3. State College Man Sentenced To 30 Years In Prison For Production Of Child Pornography (einpresswire.com) — Federal prosecutors based in Williamsport announced a 30-year federal prison sentence for a State College man convicted of producing child sexual abuse material, following an investigation by local and federal agencies. Authorities say the case is part of the nationwide Project Safe Childhood initiative, which coordinates federal, state, and local efforts to combat child exploitation and rescue victims.
   

4. BREAKING: Butts out on double homicide case (northcentralpa.com) — A major Williamsport murder case is shifting judges after defense attorneys requested President Judge Nancy Butts step aside ahead of her retirement, winning a continuance that removes her from the proceedings. The accused, Troy Bennett Bailey, faces numerous serious charges tied to a January 2024 double homicide and other alleged offenses, and remains jailed in Lycoming County without bail.
   

5.
