2 Dead, Including Shooter, In Lower Makefield
Police say the 59-year-old shot and killed another man before going into his apartment and turning the gun on himself Friday.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A man in Lower Makefield shot and killed another man at his apartment complex, then turned the gun on himself Friday afternoon, according to police.
Lower Makefield Township Police say Brian Moyer, 59, was found dead in an apartment in The Edge at Yardley apartments on Cornerstone Drive off of Township Line Road. They say it was Moyer who shot and killed another man shortly before 12:30 p.m.
That's when officers were called to the apartments and found the body of a man outside with multiple gunshot wounds to the face and body, Lower Makefield Police Chief Kenneth D. Coluzzi said in a news release.

Police had not identified that victim as of Friday evening.
A witness told police that the shooter, later identified as Moyer, had gone into a downstairs apartment. Bucks County SWAT teams and negotiators were called and several attempts were made to contact the shooter, according to police.

Meanwhile, Township Line Road was closed, residents of the area were told to stay in place and several apartments were evacuated by members of the tactical team. Those residents were sheltered at the Lower Makefield Township administration building.
At about 4:30 p.m., SWAT team members went into Moyer's apartment, where they found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Friday evening, Lower Makefield detectives and members of the Buck County District Attorney's office were getting search and seizure warrants, processing the scene and interviewing witnesses.
Coluzzi said the motive for the shooting was not known as of Friday evening.
