2 Dogs Saved In Yardley Apartment Fire

YARDLEY, PA — Two dogs were rescued Thursday from an apartment fire in Yardley.

Thursday evening, firefighters and police were called to the 700 building of Yardley Commons by a report of heavy smoke pouring from the building. When they arrived, they found that no one was home, but Yardley Police officers were told there were two dogs inside.

Officers forced their way into the apartment and helped the dogs to safety.

The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company, with the help of firefighters from neighboring companies, were able to put out the fire before it spread to other units.

"Our thanks to all the emergency responders who worked as a team to ensure no one was hurt and property damage was limited," Yardley Borough Police said in a post on social media.
