Bucks Co. Coronavirus Cases Down Over Long Weekend

The four-day total of 103 new cases was the county's lowest since March.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Over the Memorial Day weekend, Bucks County reported some of its lowest single-day totals for the coronavirus since the outbreak began.

The reports came in the days after Gov. Tom Wolf announced that Bucks and other southeastern Pennsylvania counties would be moving out of the most-restrictive red phase of his reopening plan and into the yellow phase.

The Bucks County Department of Health reported 30 new infections on Saturday, 22 on Sunday, 24 on Monday and 27 on Tuesday. The four-day total of 103 new cases was the county's lowest since March.

"We’re seeing the true payoff of the difficult sacrifices our residents and businesses have made to stop COVID-19," said health department Director Dr. David Damsker. "If we all keep doing the little things like masking, hand sanitizing and social distancing, we will be able to keep the case numbers down. That’s how we will get to 'green' in the next several weeks."
