Canal Towpath To Close Next Week In Lower Makefield

The daytime closures next week will be for work being done on the Scudder Falls Bridge.

LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA – A section of the Delaware Canal towpath in Lower Makefield will be closed during the day next week due to work on the Scudder Falls Bridge.

The closure will be on a section of the towpath south of Woodside Drive. It will be from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced.

The path closure will be for safety while crews work on an elevated utility line beneath the bridge that carries Interstate 295 across the canal near the Scudder Falls Bridge. It is a small part of the bridge replacement project, which is expected to be mostly finished by late next year.
