DAR Seek Student Entries for American History Contest
Washington Crossing Daughters of the American Revolution launches search for student essayists on the topic of World War I for contest.

The Washington Crossing Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution invites area students in grades 5-8 to enter its annual American history essay contest.
This year's topic is "World War I -- Remembering the War to End All Wars," marking the 100th anniversary of the end of that war in November 1918. The end of the war was the beginning of a new age. Students are asked to imagine that they are living in 1918 and consider how the end of war will impact their daily lives. Essayists are invited to discuss the pros and cons of the changes the Great War introduced to society and how they imagine those changes will impact the United States in the years to come.
Essay judges will consider historical accuracy, adherence to topic, organization of material, interest, originality, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and neatness to determine grade level winners. This contest is conducted without regard to race, religion, sex, or national origin.
