DUI Driver Ended Up On Opposite Sidewalk In Yardley: Police
The vehicle was spotted early Saturday at the intersection of Main Street and Afton Avenue, police said.
YARDLEY, PA — A motorist faces DUI charges after his vehicle ended up on the sidewalk early Saturday in the heart of downtown Yardley.
Yardley Borough Police were called at 5:39 a.m. Saturday to a report of a vehicle on the sidewalk at the intersection of Main Street and Afton Avenue. Investigators said the driver, a 26-year-old man from Norristown, appeared to be under the influence.
According to Yardley Police Chief Joseph Kelly, the driver had been headed toward the intersection and ended up on the Afton Avenue sidewalk on the opposite side of the street from where he had been driving.

The man was charged with driving on the opposite side of the roadway, careless driving and driving under the influence, after refusing to submit to an alcohol test. He was released to family members and the vehicle was impounded, police said.
