Father, 8-Year-Old Son Dead In Bucks Co. Murder-Suicide: Officials

A Bucks County father shot and killed his 8-year-old son before turning the gun on himself Thursday night, according to officials.

LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA — Officials have identified the Bucks County father whom they suspect of shooting and killing his 8-year-old son before turning the gun on himself Thursday night.

The apparent murder-suicide took place on the 500 block of Heritage Oak Drive in Lower Makefield Township, according to township police. Officers were called there for a wellness check at 6:10 p.m., and noticed two unresponsive people inside the house when they checked the outside perimeter.

After kicking the door in, police found 47-year-old Joseph Rozario and his son Fabian with apparent gunshot wounds to their heads, said police.

The boy attended school in the Pennsbury School District, said police. Grief counselors will be available at Afton Elementary School on Saturday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"The investigation is ongoing," police said Friday. "The decedents are in custody of the Bucks County Coroner’s Office where an autopsy is scheduled for some time today."

The Rozario family have lived in the township for the past four years, police added.
