Firefighter Injured In Morrisville Borough Blaze

Fire crews battled a garage fire early Monday morning on West Bridge Street.

MORRISVILLE, PA — A garage fire at a West Bridge Street apartment early Monday morning, which injured a firefighter, is under investigation, fire officials said.

The Morrisville Fire Department responded along with mutual aid companies at 7:15 a.m. on Monday to the area of West Bridge Street and Lafayette Avenue for a reported garage fire.

Fire crews on the unit block of South Lafayette Avenue found smoke showing from a 2.5-story garage with a 2nd-floor apartment.

With a report of people possibly still inside, firefighters entered the apartment and began searches.

Searches of the structure ultimately proved to be negative. The fire was placed under control within 20 minutes, fire officials said.

A firefighter who sustained a knee injury was transported by EMS and later released.

The fire is currently under investigation by the fire marshal.
