Flash Flood, Tornado Watches In Yardley Wednesday; Emergency Mgmt. Advises Precautions
Yardley Emergency Management is advising extreme caution this week, and said roads in the borough could be closed for several days.
YARDLEY, PA — Yardley's department of emergency management said Wednesday that roads in the borough could be closed between Thursday morning and Saturday afternoon due to the extreme weather forecasted from the remnants of Hurricane Ida.
Officials said residents should expect to lose access to North Delaware Avenue Thursday morning, and South Delaware Avenue Thursday afternoon. Pennsbury School District buses will pick Rivermawr students up at the Grist Mill parking lot, and students in the Flats should be able to get buses from College and Letchworth Avenues. Pennsbury schools will message families relevant information through ConnectEd, the department said.
Several precautions are advised for Yardley residents in the high-water event, in which tornado and flash flood watches have both been issued.
