Food Drive Fills Shopping Bags And Stomachs In Yardley
Pennsbury school officials participated in ShopRite's annual Bagging for Hunger event. Patch partners with Feeding America to combat hunger.
YARDLEY, PA —They filled bags to help fill stomachs.
Pennsbury school officials pitched in by donning an apron and helping bag groceries for ShopRite of Yardley's recent annual Bagging for Hunger event.
Pennsbury principals Mrs. Hultquist (Edgewood), Mrs. McCormick-Miller (Makefield), and Dr. Masgai (Afton), along with Mrs. Spack, Director of Elementary Education, participated in the event.

The money raised goes to support local food pantries in our community.
ShopRite will continue to raise money and round up change at the register through the end of September.

Patch has partnered with Feeding America since 2020 to help raise awareness of hunger in our local communities, a persistent national problem exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that 1 in 8 people face hunger. This is a Patch social good project; Feeding America receives 100 percent of donations.
