Fundraiser Set Up For Yardley Fire Victims
The fire Thursday evening destroyed everything the family owns and left them homeless, according to a neighbor.

YARDLEY, PA — Neighbors have started a fundraising effort for a Yardley family they say lost everything they owned in an apartment fire Thursday.
The fire happened Thursday evening in the 700 building of Yardley Commons. The fire was contained to a single unit and no one was home at the time of the blaze, according to Yardley Police. The family's two dogs were saved by emergency responders.
According to a GoFundMe campaign set up to help the apartment's residents, the blaze was an electrical fire and it destroyed everything the residents owned and left them homeless.

"Given the fire, smoke and water damage, they lost everything in the fire," wrote Jessica Lees, a resident of Yardley Commons who launched the fundraiser Thursday night. "These are young folks who, like many of us, were struggling to begin with.
"Yardley is an amazing community and many of us have connections to organizations that might be able to help with furniture, household goods, clothing and pet supplies. But coming up with rent and a security deposit at a moment’s notice will be impossible without donations."
