Sesame Place Hosting Mardi Gras Celebrations
Days after "Fat Tuesday," the Langhorne theme park will host special events, including the Quaker City String Band Mummers group.
LANGHORNE, PA — Mardi Gras may have been Tuesday, but Sesame Place will be celebrating with its first-ever event in honor of carnival season for the next two weeks.
The family-friendly celebrations, with health and safety measures in place, are set for Feb. 20, 21, 27 and 28. Families will be able to enjoy performances by the Mummers group, Quaker City String Band.
Mardi Gras beads will be tossed during mini-bike parades. Guest also may get a special Mardi Gras memento when they play Elmo's Party Balloon Scavenger Hunt, which will take place throughout the park's grounds.

And, if it's still chilly, guests can warm up with s'mores beside Sesame Place's fire pits.
Each day, the string band will perform at 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. in the Oscar's Wacky Taxi area and on the parade route at 1:15 p.m. There will be plenty of open space to dance to the New Orleans-inspired music.

The mini-bike parades will roll down the parade route at 10:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
Capacity will be limited and reservations are required. You may get more information and buy tickets at the Sesame Place website.
Mardi Gras is used by some people to refer to the entire carnival season culminating on "Fat Tuesday." That's the day before Ash Wednesday, which ushers in a period of prayer and fasting for many Christians in advance of Easter.
