Sheriff's Office Scam, Wanted Man Caught: Lower Makefield Crimes
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department released its blotter of recent criminal incidents.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A Bitcoin scam duped a resident, while a woman swiped merchandise from the Kohl's department store was reported recently by the Lower Makefield Township Police Department in its blotter of recent criminal incidents.

RETAIL THEFT ARREST — 1600 block of Big Oak Road at Kohl’s, reported at 4:31 p.m. On April 30, Loss Prevention reported an unknown woman removed $271.36 worth of merchandise without paying. Loss Prevention was able to obtain the license plate number, and police were able to positively ID the female offender through her driver’s license photo and surveillance video. A warrant was issued for the 32-year-old Trenton, N.J. woman She turned herself in and was arraigned by District Justice Kronnagel. She was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
WANTED PERSON — Big Oak Road and Oxford Valley Road, reported at 7:33 p.m. Police on patrol received an LPR alert for a wanted person. A vehicle stop was conducted, and a records check confirmed the 31-year-old male driver from Lower Makefield Township was wanted out of
Asbury Park, N.J., for fraud and abuse. He was taken into police custody, arraigned by District Justice Falcone, and sent to BCCF in lieu of $200,000 with 10 percent bail.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS — 1700 block of Covington Road, reported at 2:09 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown man knocked on their door. When the homeowner didn’t answer, the man walked into the unlocked residence.

ACCIDENT & DUI ARREST — 1600 block of Big Oak Road at Oxford Oaks Shopping Center, reported at 5:51 p.m. Police responded to the report of a minor accident at the location. Further investigation led to the arrest of the 42-year-old female driver from Morrisville for Driving Under the Influence.

FRAUD — 100 block Hyde Park Place, reported at 11:03 a.m. The complainant reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, stating the victim had two unpaid citations and convinced them to go to a Bitcoin machine and send $4,230.
