YARDLEY, PA — Between Sep. 17 and Sep. 23, police reported responding to instances of fraud and theft. Read the details:
Friday, Sep. 17
7:34 p.m. — A CVS pharmacy manager reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be a doctor trying to get several controlled prescriptions filled. After contacting the doctor’s office, it was determined this was a fraudulent phone call and the prescription was not filled.

Saturday, Sep. 18
1:29 a.m. — Police responded to the report of a car hitting a fence on Lindenhurst Road and Washington Crossing Road and fleeing the scene. Further investigation led police to arrest a 26-year-old female driver from Newtown for driving under the influence.

4:51 p.m. — A complainant on the 200 block of Forrest Road reported that someone attempted to open bank accounts in their name.
Monday, Sep. 20
9:02 a.m. — An investigation is ongoing after Loss Prevention at the Shop Rite on Big Oak Road detained a 48-year-old Lower Makefield woman for taking merchandise without paying on several occasions.
9:20 a.m. — A complainant on the 13000 block of Cornerstone Drive reported that someone applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
11:12 a.m. — From the 7000 block of Spruce Mill Drive, someone reported that an unknown person filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
11:30 a.m. — A complainant on the 600 block of Fox Hollow Drive reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
3:09 p.m. — Someone on the 1700 block of Makefield Road reported that an unknown person filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
4:06 p.m. — Someone on the 18000 block of Cornerstone Drive reported theft of 69,000 airline miles, worth $2,035.50.
4:17 p.m. — A complainant on the 1500 block of Littlecroft Court reported receiving an email from someone claiming to be their friend asking them to purchase a $300.00 Amazon gift card. After purchasing the card and providing the information via email, the person contacted their friend via telephone and realized this was a scam.
8:31 p.m. — A complainant on the 1700 block of Renaissance Boulevard reported unauthorized use of a credit card in the amount of $629.49.
Tuesday, Sep. 21
3:30 p.m. — A complainant on the 1200 block of Dickinson Drive reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
4:57 p.m. — A complainant reported from Fairway Drive that they fell victim to a mystery shopper scam.
Thursday, Sep. 23
1:19 p.m. — A complainant on the 1300 block of Apple Blossom Drive reported that someone filed for unemployment benefits in their name.
