Bucks Co. Towns With Most New COVID Cases: Latest Data

Check your zip code to see how many new coronavirus cases were reported there over the past week, according to Pennsylvania data.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Bucks County recorded more than 2,200 new cases of the coronavirus over the past week, as a surge that is threatening the capacity of area hospitals continues.

Friday morning, municipalities in the county had added 2,216 confirmed or probable cases of the virus, based on data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health's COVID-19 data portal.

The state was reporting 18,925 of those cases in Bucks County on Friday, up from 16,706 the week before. That continues a torrid pace of new cases in Bucks, which had added nearly 2,700 confirmed and probable cases the week before.

The state numbers also suggest Bucks will have recorded its largest number of new coronavirus-related deaths in months when figures are officially tallied. The state was reporting 711 total COVID-19 deaths in Bucks County — an increase of 39 over what it was reporting last Friday.

The 23 coronavirus deaths recorded in Bucks County last week had been the county's most since May.

Bucks County's government has been releasing weekly coronavirus updates late Monday or early Tuesday.

Once again, the majority of new cases were reported in the population centers in Lower Bucks County. Bensalem, the county's largest municipality, added 296 cases, according to state figures, while Levittown's four zip codes added another 260.

Including other zip codes in the Levittown area (adding Bristol, Croydon, Fairless Hills and Langhorne), that area had a total of 566 new cases.

This week, several counties in the Philadelphia area and the rest of southeastern Pennsylvania are down to only a few remaining intensive care beds, as hospitals work to weather the surge in coronavirus cases.

On Thursday, state health officials urged Pennsylvanians to stay home, saying the commonwealth's hospitals are currently at risk of not being able to take all the patients that need care.
