Yardley Council Considering Property Tax Increase (ICYMI)

The tax hike was included in a preliminary budget that was unanimously approved by council last week.

YARDLEY, PA — Members of the Yardley Borough Council are considering a property tax increase.

The increase would be 4 mills, which would amount to an average increase of $110 per year on homes in Yardley. Council members unanimously approved a preliminary budget that included the increase at their meeting last week.

Council is scheduled to vote on the borough's final 2021 budget in December.

"We know this has been a difficult year and this decision was not reached lightly," council member Caroline Thompson said in a social media post.

The council has meetings scheduled for Dec. 1 and Dec. 15.
