Yardley Dad Shares Parenting Responsibilities, Always There For Kids

YARDLEY, PA— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Yardley, meet Lee Hammett.

If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to shine a light on awesome dads and the funny, insightful things they say. This submission comes from Jo Mason who nominated Lee Hammett of Yardley.

What makes your dad extra special?

I'm actually not nominating my dad. I'm nominating my wife's ex-husband, who I'm lucky enough to be raising kids with. He's a Navy veteran and Arkansas native who moved to the area and put his life aside to always be there for his kids. When it comes to sharing the responsibilities of fatherhood, from the very beginning he made it very clear that he enjoyed having me around because it was more people to love our kids.

Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?

Lee is a hardworking salt of the earth guy who also embraces fathering girls with a passion and gentleness unlike anyone else. He is helping raise strong-yet-soft, independent-yet-inclusive kids. He helps myself and all of the kids' parents instill in them that love and family is more important than anything else.
