Yardley-Makefield Firefighters Respond To 23 Calls In Storm's Wake

According to the fire company, during a 24-hour period the volunteers spent more than 100 hours answering calls.

YARDLEY, PA — The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company responded to 23 calls during and after Thursday evening's severe thunderstorm, which left a path of fallen trees and power lines in the Yardley-Makefield area.

According to the fire company, during a 24-hour period the volunteers spent more than 100 hours answering calls for downed trees and power lines, power outages, and generator malfunctions.

Most notable was a call to Upper Hilltop Road for a large tree that toppled onto an outbuilding and brought down wires and a transformer. The firefighters also responded to a serious non-storm-related vehicle crash Thursday night on River Road.

The company expressed its thanks to the Lower Makefield Public Works Department for clearing the streets quickly of debris following the storm.
