Yardley Urging Evacuations Due To Flooding; River Road Impassable
The Delaware Canal is overflowing, Yardley Borough officials said late Wednesday night. They are urging some residents to evacuate.

YARDLEY, PA — Yardley residents east of the Delaware Canal are being urged to evacuate voluntarily as the canal is overflowing its bounds.
The county sent an urgent message around 10 p.m. Wednesday night with the request. Wednesday brought widespread storms, flash flood warnings, and tornado watches in Bucks County as the remnants of Hurricane Ida move through Pennsylvania.
Rivermawr and Flats residents were encouraged by Yardley Borough to evacuate their homes due to the flooding. River Road has become impassable, borough officials said, adding that evacuation is now "strongly suggested."
