Can You Guess Which Rhode Island Graveyard's The Scariest?

A recent poll determined the scariest graveyards in America and one in Rhode Island finished in 45th place.
North Burial Ground in Providence is the scariest graveyard in all of Rhode Island, according to the poll conducted by life insurance agency Choice Mutual.

"With over 40,000 souls spanning centuries, Providence’s North Burial Ground is part memorial, part memory, part whispered lore. Come October, the site hosts ghost tours that weave tales of restless spirits, historical figures, and unsolved mysteries," Choice Mutual said in a media release. "At night, many longtime residents say the cemetery’s hush deepens — laughter, footfalls, or faint voices become possible in the dark, though those who listen are often unsure which belong to the living."

The second scariest graveyard in Rhode Island is Swan Point Cemetery in Providence, according to the poll.

The poll was based on an online panel survey of 3,004 respondents, the release said, and determined the scariest graveyard in the country is Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Sleepy Hollow, New York.

"The scariest graveyard in America? Yes, that Sleepy Hollow – Washington Irving is buried here, and some claim his Headless Horseman still rides through on misty nights," the release said. "Lantern light glints off the Hudson, hooves echo on the bridge, and every rustle in the trees feels a little too deliberate. The line between fiction and folklore is never quite settled."
