When it comes to decorating for the holidays, no one does it better than these grand and historic hotels across the Rhode Island

Patch explored luxury and historic hotels that regularly dress up their lobbies for the holidays.

Here are our five favorite places to visit during the holidays:

1. The Beatrice, Providence:

As the holidays arrive, the Beatrice "lobby transforms into a glittering winter setting with thoughtful décor and seasonal programming," the hotel's website boasts. The Beatrice also features the seasonally apt Nutcracker Suite.

"Step into The Nutcracker Suite, a festive transformation of the Barton Suite inspired by Ballet RI’s beloved production," the site says. "Sparkling décor and an illuminated tree create a warm, enchanting winter retreat."

2. The Royce Newport, Newport:

"There’s no better place to experience the enchantment of the holiday season than Newport, Rhode Island — and no better way to enjoy it than by staying at The Royce Newport, an ultra-luxury boutique hotel and resort in the heart of downtown," the hotel's website says. "During the holidays, Newport’s famous mansions come alive with dazzling decorations, glowing fireplaces, and the spirit of a bygone era, creating one of the most magical experiences in all of New England."

3. The Ocean House, Watch Hill:

From De. 5 to Dec. 21, the Ocean House offers the Mortimer’s Magical Holiday package.

The package includes a two-night stay in "elegant family accommodations, complete with welcome gifts and nightly turndown surprises from Santa's Helper, Mortimer Mouse, who’s known for his playful charm, festive cheer and love for all things Watch Hill," the Ocean House website says.

"The highlight of your stay includes tickets for two adults and one child to our beloved Brunch with Santa, where holiday delights and heartwarming moments await," the site says. "Plus, your family will receive time to visit Santa in his own suite, giving your child the chance to take cherished photos and share their Christmas wish list in a magical, one-on-one experience."

4. The Weekapaug Inn, Weekapaug:

The sister hotel to the Ocean House, the Weekapaug Inn offers a Winter Romance package.

"Celebrate love and each other," the Weekapaug Inn website says. "Retreat to the magic and elegance of this hidden gem on the New England coastline. Explore the breathtaking beauty and solitude of the Quonochontaug Pond and the Atlantic Ocean."

5. The Vanderbilt, Newport:

The Family Holiday Experiences at the Vanderbilt include embarking on a "family fox hunt" for the "stuffed fox that is hidden amongst our historic Gilded Age mansion to receive a gift from our antique wooden treasure box" and writing a letter to Father Christmas and "deposit it in our antique treasure box and celebrate the holiday season with The Vanderbilt team," the hotel website says.
