Exeter Man Charged With Killing Woman

Prosecutors said Ramsundar Ramkalwan, 60, killed a 65-year-old woman by striking her with a rock several times.

EXETER, RI — An Exeter man was arrested after killing a 65-year-old woman, Rhode Island State Police said Tuesday.

Ramsundar Ramkalwan, 60, was arrested Monday and charged with murder.

Around 10:10 a.m., Monday, State Police received a 911 call about an unresponsive woman in an apartment in the 500th block of South County Trail in Exeter. Emergency officials arrived and found Donna MacDonald, of Exeter, dead. State Police deemed her death suspicious.

Prosecutors told WPRI 12 Ramkalawan admitted to arguing with MacDonald before striking her with a rock several times. Both Ramkalawan and MacDonald have the same address, but police haven't said the relation between them.

Ramkalawan was arraigned Tuesday and was ordered held without bail.
