Man In 'Crisis' Located, Transported For Evaluation: Warwick Cops
Officers checked on the man at the request of the Derby, Connecticut, police, according to the Warwick police.
WARWICK, RI — A man in "crisis" was located and transported for an evaluation, police said.
Officers were sent to a home on Main Avenue near George Arden Avenue about 2:45 p.m. Friday after the Derby, Connecticut, Police Department requested a welfare check of a "male resident at that location possibly experiencing some type of mental health crisis," the Warwick Police Department said in a media release.

"Upon arrival, officers were granted entry to the residence by a roommate," the release said. "As they attempted to make contact with the individual in question, officers found him locked in his room."

Officers spoke to the man through the door and determined he was in "crisis," according to the release.
"A short time later, the male subject exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident," the release said. "He was transported by Warwick Fire Department for evaluation."

No charges were filed but the matter remains under investigation, according to the release.
