Narragansett Police Dog To Receive Body Armor
The nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s is donating the body armor.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — Narragansett police dog Tek will receive a bullet and stab protective vest, the department posted on its Facebook page.
The vest was donated by the nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s, the post said.
The donation was sponsored by James Cook of Narragansett and will be embroidered with, “Gifted by Retired NPD Detective Capt. James Cook.”

Vested Interest in K9s accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, the post said, noting a single donation of $1,050 will sponsor one vest.
Tek, a 20-month-old from Slovakia, is a certified patrol and narcotics dog assigned to K9 Patrol Officer Calvin Carpenter, according to the post.
