Providence College Women's Hockey Selected Fifth In Hockey East Preseason Poll

The Friars begin Hockey East play Oct. 10 at Northeastern University.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Providence College women's hockey team was selected to finish fifth in the Hockey East Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The Friars, who received 61 points, were picked to finish behind UConn, Boston University, Northeastern University and Boston College, according to a media release from Providence College.

Providence placed ahead of New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Holy Cross and Merrimack, the release said.

Providence finished with a 20-12-3 overall record and a 16-9-2 mark in Hockey East during the 2024-25 season.

Reichen Kirchmair of Oakville, Ontario, returns for her senior year after earning the Cammi Granato Award as Hockey East Player of the Year and being named a First Team All-Star. Kirchmair led the team with 19 goals and 18 assists for 37 points.

Audrey Knapp of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, also enters her final season after finishing second on the team in scoring with 19 goals and 16 assists for 35 points, earning First Team All-Star honors.
