Rhode Island was the second least likely state for a truck driver to get killed on the job, according to the study.

A recent study determined Rhode Island was the second least likely state for a truck driver to get killed on the job.

The study, conducted by Texas personal injury law firm Angel Reyes & Associates, involved analyzing five years of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data and ranked all 50 states by the percentage of fatal crashes that involved large trucks.

Rhode Island finished with second in safety — or 49th in danger, as the Angel Reyes & Associates ranking put them — to only Hawaii. A mere 7.58% of deadly Rhode Island crashes involved trucks. Hawaii's number edged out the Ocean State's by just 2.27%.

The most dangerous state for a truck driver was Nebraska, where 30.94% of fatal crashes involved a truck. Nebraska was followed by Wyoming and North Dakota.

Another recent Angel Reyes & Associates study determined Rhode Island is the safest state in America when it comes to driving in inclement weather.
