Rhode Island Among Safest States For Teen Drivers: Study

Rhode Island had one of the lowest rates for teen fatal crashes, according to the study.

A recent study shows Rhode Island is one of the safest states in the nation for teen drivers.

Rhode Island ranked 10th in the study conducted by vehicle history report site Bumper.

The safest state for teen drivers was New Hampshire, which had 15.61 teen fatal crashes per 100,000 licensed young drivers, according to the study. The Ocean State's rate was 23.47.

Far and away, the most dangerous state for teen drivers was Kentucky with a rate of 138.36 per 100,000, the study determined.

Kentucky was followed by New Mexico at 79.02 per 100,000 and Mississippi with 74.33, according to the study.
