Rhode Island-based Jobs Up 400 from August To September: DLT
The September unemployment rate dropped to 4.5%, according to the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training.
Jobs at Rhode Island-based businesses rose by 400 in September as the state’s unemployment rate dropped a tenth of a percentage point to 4.5%, the state's Department of Labor and Training reported Tuesday.
Year over year, jobs were up 2,700 from September 2024, and the unemployment rate was unchanged, the department said in a media release.
The U.S. unemployment rate was 4.4% in September, up a tenth of a percentage point from August, according to the release. The U.S. rate was 4.1% in September 2024.

"The number of unemployed Rhode Island residents — those residents classified as available for and actively seeking employment — was 26,300, down 800 from August," the release said. "The number of unemployed residents was down 300 over the year."
