RI City Named Among Best Coastal Small Towns, USA Today Says

RHODE ISLAND — A Rhode Island city is one of the best coastal small towns in the nation, USA Today said last week in its 10best Readers Choice Awards 2024.

The ongoing online contests allow readers to choose the top 10 winners from a list of 20 nominees in several nationwide categories, including food, lodging and destinations. USA Today said an expert panel makes the nominations before voting occurs.

Rhode Island residents may recognize one of this year's victors, Newport, which makes an appearance in one category.

With New England flavor, Newport is serving up chowder and architectural landscapes, according to the city website. A visit to Newport could be good for families or for those looking to get a romantic getaway, per its website.
