RI Nursing Assistant's License Suspended Amid Molestation Accusation

A nursing assistant lost his license after a resident of an assisted living facility leveled accusations of sexual molestation, according to the Rhode Island Department of Health.

The resident claimed nursing assistant Julian Rodriguez "had been assigned to assist him with showering" during the month of October and Rodriguez "utilized a massage tool on the patient's genitals," according to a Nov. 25 department of health notice of summary suspension.

The patient also said Rodriguez "had placed his hands on the patient's penis, and had placed the patient's penis in his mouth" in October, according to the notice.

The patient made the accusation Nov. 1, the notice said.

"After considering the above facts, the Director of the Department of Health finds that public health, safety, or welfare imperatively requires emergency action," the notice said, noting Rodriguez's license would remain suspended "until further order of the Department."

The notice does not specify the assisted living facility that employed Rodriguez.

There appears to be no criminal case on file associated with the allegations.

Rodriguez is a 2020 graduate of American Safety Programs and Training and a 2023 graduate of Grace Barker Nursing Center, according to the department of health.
