RI Ranks Among Best States For Jobs, New Study Says
The analysis compared the 50 states across 34 key indicators of job-market strength and economic health.
If you're looking for a job in Rhode Island, you're in a good spot, at least according to one new study. Personal finance website WalletHub named Rhode Island the No. 10 best state for jobs in the country.
Rhode Island had a total score of 58.29, with a job market ranking of No. 15 and an economic environment ranking of No. 8.
The state is among the best for least time spent working, tied for No. 3 with Oregon.

It wasn't all rosy news for Rhode Island: the average monthly starting salary was among the lowest in the country at No. 48.
Massachusetts took the top spot in the job rankings. Overall, New England did exceptionally well in the study with every state landing in the top 10.

No matter where you are in the country, looking for a job is tough. Fortunately, the U.S. labor market remains fairly strong with the unemployment rate holding relatively steady over the past year, hovering between 4% and 4.3%.
“Living in one of the best states for jobs can provide stable conditions for the long-term, helping you ride out the fluctuations that the economy will experience in the future," WalletHub Analyst Chip Lupo said.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, West Virginia was named the worst state for jobs.
