Washington State Woman Pleads Guilty In Rhode Island For Pill Plot: Feds
The Battle Ground woman pleaded guilty to conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Washington State woman pleaded guilty in Rhode Island federal court for her part in a pill plot, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Megan Farra, 39, pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, and one count of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a media release.

"According to court documents, Farra, a resident of Battle Ground, was part of a drug-distribution network that included several co-conspirators working for a drug organization based overseas," the release said.

"Members of the group in the United States received bulk shipments of pills from their international source, repacked the drugs into smaller quantities, and mailed them to buyers throughout the U.S.," according to the release. "In return, they were paid for their role in facilitating the distribution scheme. The conspiracy was responsible for the importation and distribution of tens of thousands of pills containing schedule IV-controlled substances as well as non-controlled prescription drugs.

Schedule IV substances are drugs with a low potential for abuse and low risk of dependence., according to the Drug Enforcement Administration and include Xanax, Soma, Darvon, Darvocet, Valium, Ativan, Talwin, Ambien, Tramadol.

Farra's sentencing was scheduled for March 3.
