2 Dead After Car Crashes Into Woods In Barrington
The driver was a man in his 30s, while the passenger was a woman in her 20s, Barrington police say.
BARRINGTON, RI — Two people died in a car crash in Barrington on Sunday morning, according to police.
Police said the single-car crash happened just after 8 a.m. on the Wampanoag Trail. Responding officers found a heavily damaged car that went off the road and into the woods, according to police.
Police said the driver and his passenger were both taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where they were pronounced dead. The driver was a man in his 30s, while the passenger was a woman in her 20s, police said. Police have not yet identified the crash victims.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but police said both victims were wearing seatbelts, and speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.
