5 Things to Know About Weekend

Somewhat wet weekend; farmers market with ewaste collection; open mic at library; summer reading club; junior golf opening day.

Here are five things you should know about this weekend, June 28-30, in and around Barrington:

  1. Possibility of showers and scattered thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday with temperatures around 80 degrees both days.
  2. The Go Local farmers market continues at Barrington Congregational Church on Saturday from 9 am to noon with a free electronic waste drop-off (anything with a wire and batteries, too) operated by Indie Cycle.
  3. The Barrington library hosts Project 42 Open Mic on Saturday from 2 to 4 pm; come; you can read poems, stories, sing, dance, perform whatever.
  4. Saturday is the first day to report on books for the Summer Reading Club at Barrington library; stop by between 9:30 am and 4 pm.
  5. The Barrington Recreation Department’s new Junior Golf Program holds its Opening Day on Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm at Walker Farm off of County Road on Hundred Acre Cove. Meet the staff and get the swing of the program for kids.
