911 Caller Helps Police Chase Down Woman Who Fled Scene of Crash

Barrington police charge Fall River women with fleeing crash at County Road and Maple Avenue.

A 911 caller helped the Barrington police chase down last week a Fall River woman who left the scene of an accident that may have caused some neck injuries to two people.

The caller followed the woman for a couple of miles on County Road into Warren, said Barrington Police Chief John LaCross, where the Warren police stopped her.

The woman, Amy L. Bettencourt, 35, reportedly rear-ended a car on Thursday morning, June 20, just before noon at County Road and Maple Avenue. She left the scene of the crash despite heavy front-end damage to her Nissan Maxima, said LaCross.
