Your Guide to Adopting a Dog This Weekend

Okay, your children want a dog for a pet. And you think they are the right age to help care for it. But you really don’t know where to start or where to go.

Here’s an event this weekend that could answer all your questions. And allow you to bring home a four-legged friend for life at the same time.

Always Adopt – a nonprofit organization for pets that are rescued – is holding its second “Super Dog Adoption Day” on Sunday, Aug. 11, at the Inskip Automall in Warwick. It runs from 10 am to 4pm.

Always Adopt allows many rescue groups and shelters to showcase their dogs in a family-friendly environment.  You can come out and meet your new best friend in a spacious air-conditioned area donated by the Inskip Lexus and Infiniti dealerships. 

At the same, there will be dog trainers and veterinarians on hand to answer all your questions so you get off on the right foot with your pet.

The goal of the day is to give pets that have been rescued exposure to families that are looking to add a new family member.  Each of more than 200 dogs and puppies will be on leashes with their own volunteer “ambassador” who will be able to tell you all about their dog.

You can give one of these dogs or pups a wonderful, safe home for life.
